World food day 2025
World Food Day, celebrated on October 16, focuses on food security and sustainable practices worldwide. The 2025 flagship event will likely serve as a global platform for advocacy, aiming to raise awareness about hunger and malnutrition issues. Event Attendees can expect engaging discussions featuring policy, science, and innovation experts, highlighting intergenerational collaboration and partnerships to address food security challenges.
In addition to an expert panel and a workshop, the event will likely include a film screening emphasizing the importance of sustainable food systems and the impact of food insecurity. Films selected for such screenings typically showcase personal stories, highlight local initiatives, and inspire collective action, providing a powerful narrative on food challenges across communities.
On World Food Day 2024, we celebrated the day by showing an excellent movie, "Kiss the Ground."The movie was narrated and featured Woody Harrelson. "Kiss the Ground"is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis and clearly shows that the solution is right under our feet!
End World Hunger Foundation sponsored this free event with the support of the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation. Donations received at the event were used to combat hunger and child malnutrition around the world.
On World Food Day 2025, we will celebrate the day by showing another excellent movie, "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" (2019). It is a true story about a Malawian boy who invents a windmill to save his village from famine. This celebration is another opportunity to donate to End World Hunger
Foundation.
